Payment Policy
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Lines on an order: 3. The dresses. The shipping. The sales tax, where a state asks for it. This letter walks the 3 lines to the total, follows the card from the moment you press pay, and ends with what happens to the money afterward. Beyond the total there is no fee. None.
Before you pay: the lines and the total
Currency: US dollars
Dollars. Every price is a dollar price and every charge a dollar charge, so a card from a bank abroad works when that bank approves a dollar charge, and a conversion fee, where 1 exists, is that bank's own fee and never appears in our order summary.
The total: dresses, shipping, sales tax
Line 1: the dresses at their page prices. Line 2: shipping, $5.95 while the dresses come to less than $55, $0 once they reach it. Line 3: sales tax, in the states where we must collect it, worked out on the delivery address. Add the 3 and you have the figure printed above the payment button, which is the figure the card is charged and the whole of it, with no processing fee, no card fee and no charge on delivery, because the import duty was settled before the parcel left China, and the Shipping Policy carries the detail on shipping and on tax.
Discount codes: 1 box, 2 places
1 box. It sits in the cart and again at checkout: type the code, press apply, and watch the discount land on its own line above the total. The store software labels the box for gift cards too, and since none are sold here a discount code is the only thing to type into it, while the $55 threshold is measured on the dress prices before any code.
When you pay: cards through Stripe today
Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
4 marks. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, credit or debit, through Stripe, whose own field takes the card number and keeps it, so that we never hold it, and any method this page does not name is a method we do not take, whatever button shows at checkout before this page is updated.
PayPal: being connected, not yet usable
While the PayPal account is being connected, a PayPal button can show at checkout. Until the connection is live a PayPal payment does not go through and a card is how to pay, and the day PayPal goes live, this page is updated first, and so is the Short answers page.
The charge: as the order is placed
Charged: at the order, not at dispatch. The partner pulls the dress from its shelf because that payment exists, and the confirmation email is the receipt. A decline creates no order: fix the details or try another card, and if the decline repeats, the reason sits with your bank, out of our sight.
A pending amount: a hold, gone in 3 to 7 business days
A failed attempt, or an order cancelled after the card was authorized, can leave a pending amount on the statement. Pending means held, not taken. The bank lifts it by itself, normally within 3 to 7 business days, and nothing we do can hurry it. No subscription, no membership, no installment plan, no trial: 1 charge per order, and never a second.
After you pay: card data, statements, refunds
Card data: never on our side
HTTPS covers every page, the checkout among them. The card number and the security code go to Stripe and are stored on no server of ours; afterward we can see the brand and the final 4 digits, nothing more. Stripe holds PCI DSS certification for card handling. We claim no system beyond every risk, because nobody can, and we say instead that the card data is not ours to lose.
An unfamiliar statement line: write first
A line on the statement you cannot place, or an amount that differs from the order total: give us the date and the sum by email, at contact@cheerfulshopping.com, before calling the bank. Within 12 hours on business days you hear which order the line belongs to, and a wrong amount is refunded within 3 business days. A dispute opened at the bank first freezes the sum on both sides, and for weeks. 1 email settles it in a day.
Refunds: back to the card, within 3 business days
A refund returns to the card that was charged, never to another card, a bank account or store credit. We issue it within 3 business days of approving the return or the cancellation, and the bank needs 3 to 10 business days more to post it. Whether a case is refunded in full, shipping included, or less the $5.95 outbound shipping is decided by the Refund and Returns Policy; this page adds no rule of its own.
Chargebacks: the order record answers them
A chargeback opened on a dress that was delivered and kept, with no email to us first, gets our answer: the order record, the tracking events and this page. A card used without your permission is another matter. Tell us at once, any open order is cancelled, and we work with your bank.
That is the money side, whole. 3 lines. 1 total. 1 card. A refund that returns the way it came.
