The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives a Californian a right against the selling or the sharing of personal information by a business, and this page is where that right lives on this site. Cheerful Shopping sells none of it and shares none of it. The 7 headings below are the ones the law expects, and under each one is what that means here, plus the way to send a request anyway.

Your Rights Under CCPA

6 rights, if you live in California: to learn what personal information is held about you and to what end; to have a wrong entry corrected; to have the record deleted; to halt any selling or sharing of it; to limit how sensitive personal information is used; and to be treated the same after asking as before. Someone you appoint in writing can exercise them for you. Sensitive personal information, in the Act's sense, is not something we collect, so the fifth right finds nothing to limit; the others are described at length in the Privacy Policy.

What Does "Selling Information" Mean?

The Act's definitions: a sale is a transfer of personal information to another business in exchange for money or anything else worth having; a share is a transfer made so that the other business can aim advertising at you using what you did on other sites. Neither happens here. Personal information leaves us in 5 situations, all of them service or law: Stripe processes the payment; the packing partner in China and the carriers deliver the parcel; the company hosting the store software and the company sending our emails hold data on our instructions; the service that answers in the chat bubble reads the words typed there; a court or an authority receives what a legal order compels. Under the Act those companies are service providers, and the court case is a legal disclosure. None of it is a sale. None of it is a share.

Opt-Out Request for Personal Information Sharing

With no sale and no share taking place, the site carries no switch to flip, and a request you never send costs you nothing. A request you do send is kept as a standing instruction: email contact@cheerfulshopping.com with "Opt-out" as its subject, plus the email address tied to your order or account, or type the same into the message form at cheerfulshopping.com/pages/contact. We log it and confirm it in writing. Should our practices ever change so that selling or sharing applies, this page and the Privacy Policy are rewritten first, and every request already logged is applied from the first day of the new practice. An agent may send it on your behalf with your signed authorization.

Verification Process and Response Time

Receipt: confirmed within 12 hours on business days. An opt-out request asks for no proof beyond an email address that matches an order or an account, and it is completed within 15 business days. A request to see, fix or erase a record is checked against the order or account it belongs to, with 1 further question if the details do not line up, and never with a demand for identity papers or card details; it is completed within 45 days of receipt, extendable by 45 more for a complicated one, and you are told before the first 45 end if the extension is needed.

Right to Non-Discrimination

Nothing about your treatment changes when you use a right on this page. Prices, delivery, the return window and how fast a reply comes are identical for a person who has sent a request and a person who has not, and no discount or other reward is offered to anyone in exchange for personal information.

Important Notes

Under 16: no sale and no share, knowingly or otherwise, since none happens for anyone. Under 13: nothing knowingly collected. The site shows no cookie banner today, since it sets no optional cookie; a browser signal such as Global Privacy Control therefore goes unread, because no sale or share exists for the signal to stop, and a request by email is the way to put an opt-out on record. If advertising cookies or similar technology are ever added, a consent tool that honors such signals is installed before that technology runs, and this page is rewritten first. Each request, and what was done with it, stays on file for 24 months, as the law requires. Where this page and the Privacy Policy seem to differ, the Privacy Policy prevails.
